Message Recently there has been a lot of buzz about the ability of the manual transmission to hold upwards of 600whp reliably. Dee contributed some great pictures of the gear set but it was only to monitor wear. For those who have lost your transmissions catastrophically, are there any pictures available?

I would like to take a look at what exactly is giving out, if it is consistant, and if anything can be done about it.

Please use this thread to contribute your experience with tranny failure in a concise summary so that we may look for trends. Important info would be what gear you were shifting from/to, approximate rwhp level, age of unit, and the failure scenario. Ideal would be photos of the actual fractures on the gears.

I do not wish to see transmissions as consumable or be held back by the fear of breaking them. Lets nip this one in the bud...

Thank you for your input!

Daily driving a TT is like ordering your favorite pizza for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's not healthy and eventually you will lose the magic of the meal. Sometimes you just have to have some meatloaf.

My new meatloaf.... 1994 Black Honda Civic DX :D

what? It looks a little stumpy, but fits great in the hand! (n/m) - ZEngineer 12/12/06
